What is a Solar Construction Manager?

A solar construction manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of solar energy projects. They work between developers, engineers, and construction crews to ensure projects are built safely, on time, and to spec.

About the Course

Meet Devan Araujo, a solar construction manager based on Maui who oversees the utility-scale solar projects moving Hawaiʻi toward 100% renewable energy. After working his way up from module installer in New Mexico over nearly a decade, Devan came home to lead projects that will power the islands for 25 years or more. As a solar construction manager, he splits his time between job sites, inter-island flights, and a desk full of contracts and engineering drawings. He coordinates EPC contractors, leads safety talks, runs inspections, and solves problems that change every single day. This profession is a blend of field work, technical knowledge, and business savvy, making it one of the most dynamic careers in Hawaiʻi's growing clean energy industry.
