What is a Radiologic Technologist?

A radiologic technologist is a healthcare professional who uses imaging equipment like X-ray machines to capture diagnostic images that help doctors identify and treat medical conditions.

About the Course

Meet Marissa Tomasu, a radiologic technologist at The Queen's Medical Center who grew up in Moanalua and found her way into healthcare through an orthodontic office job and a conversation about x-ray. As a radiologic technologist, Marissa works across the hospital—from the emergency room and operating room to fluoroscopy suites and inpatient floors—using advanced imaging technology to help doctors diagnose and treat patients. This profession is a blend of technical skill, patient care, and adaptability, making it an essential and often overlooked pillar of modern healthcare.
